The UK government has given Thurrock Council funding under Tranche 2 of the Active Travel scheme to implement measures to improve walking and cycling in Thurrock.

We have selected five areas for consideration and The Homesteads Ward (which is on the north side of Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham) is one of those areas. A scheme has been drawn up for this area and we would like your views. If supported it will then be taken forward along with your comments to a detail design and implementation stage.

The scheme proposals are found in the documents section of this page.

This is primarily a walking and cycling scheme and has to meet with the appropriate guidance, under the Department for Transport LTN 1/20. Within the design we have managed to address concerns raised by local residents about 'rat running' and vehicle speeds. The full LTN 1/20 guidance report can also be accessed via the .GOV website.
