We want to install a new play area in Chadwell St Mary, and need your help and support. Please complete our survey below to have your say.  

In the past Chadwell Community Forum, working with Thurrock Council, were awarded funding to install a new play area on the Heath. Attempts to install the play equipment were unsuccessful due to the equipment being vandalised and destroyed. 

We have previously asked the community about the sort of play equipment and design they would like for the park. The final design was shared and displayed in the library. The design has been updated slightly since.

The Project 

We want to: 

  • Install the new play area alongside the car park beside the Pyramid Resource Centre (Heath Road, Chadwell St Mary)
  • Consider the use of CCTV or other measures to improve safety and discourage vandalism.
  • Consider enclosing the play area by placing a fence around it.

    Summary: We gathered valuable feedback on the proposal for a new play area on the Heath. A majority of respondents expressed strong support for this initiative, highlighting the need for a safe, engaging space for children and families to enjoy. Many suggestions were made to ensure the play area is inclusive, accessible, and well-maintained, and we will take these into account during the planning and design phases.

    Conclusion: Based on the positive response and feedback, we are pleased to announce that we will be moving forward with the installation of the play area on the Heath. We are excited to bring this project to life and look forward to creating a fun, safe space for the entire community to enjoy.
