FAQs
What are these new changes to fees and charges?
We're updating our fees and charges to match a new plan. This is to make sure we can keep giving you good services. These changes will start on April 1, 2024
Why are you making these changes?
We want to make sure the money we charge for some services covers their costs. We also think about how much things cost now and what other places charge for similar services.
Will all services cost more now?
Not every service will cost more. We're mainly changing fees for some special services that we choose to offer, not the ones we must offer by law.
How much more will I have to pay?
It depends on what service you use. We're adding a little bit to some prices to keep up with rising costs. But don't worry, we'll tell you about any changes before they happen.
What is the money from these extra charges used for?
The extra money helps us keep providing good services to you. It also helps us make sure we have enough money for everything we need to do.
How did you decide on these new charges?
We looked at lots of things like how much people need the services, what other towns charge, and how much things cost now.
Will these changes affect all residents?
These changes might affect you if you use certain services. But we always think about how changes might affect different people and try to be fair.
Where can I find more detail about these changes?
There will be a detailed report given to a special committee in February 2024. You can ask to see it then.
Will fees and charges keep changing in the future?
We plan to look at our fees and charges every year to make sure they are still appropriate. This means there might be small changes in the future.
What if I can't afford the new charges?
