Thurrock Council has received feedback from residents about speeding of vehicles in your area, and requests for installation of double yellow lines. We have carried out early investigations into these issues, using traffic analysis and accidents data. These surveys have shown that most vehicles are travelling within the current speed limit (30mph), however concerns have been raised by residents and Councillors about vehicles travelling outside the speed limit posing a risk for all road users.

In order to improve road safety in your area, funding has been made available for highways improvements in your area under an Area Intervention Programme.

The attached plan shows our proposals and includes:

  • Measures for traffic calming in the form of 20 mph zones.
  • Physical traffic calming for example, speed cushions or humps, raised junctions etc.
  • New double yellow lines or extension of existing double yellow lines

Please have your say on these proposals and suggest any additional measures you feel would increase road safety within Stifford Clays South and Little Thurrock Blackshots by completing the survey below.
