We want to hear your views on the future of local government in our area.
The government has published proposals for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) to simplify local government structures. This means replacing the current 15 councils with fewer, larger local authorities.
Since then, councils across Essex have been working on plans to design the new authorities, looking at local identities, transport routes, health and housing needs, and financial stability. A range of options are being explored, including 3, 4 or 5 new authorities.
Any new council model needs to have Thurrock residents and communities at its heart. That’s why we need you to answer 11 short questions about how you feel about LGR. It will only take three to five minutes to complete. Your feedback will help shape our plans.
