FAQs
Will I still be able to access my rear garden through the new site?
While there will be restrictions of access during the construction period, these plans have been carefully designed to ensure that all rights of way and access will be retained in the long term (post construction).
If you believe you hold a right of over the site that may be affected by the construction of the development, we kindly ask you to contact us as soon as possible. Please either email charles.parkin@montagu-evans.co.uk(External link) or emily.village@montagu-evans.co.uk(External link) with your contact details and address.
How many car parking spaces will be available?
There will be 13 new spaces (12 on-site and 1 additional bay by the entrance to the west).
Why do we need to build new homes?
Corringham is a popular place to live, which means there is an ongoing high-demand for a range of different types of new housing; from flats to larger family-sized houses.
The Council housing register currently has over 4000 active housing applications as of March 2026.
The proposed development consists of 2 x2 bedroom & 4 x3 bedroom modern, high-quality council homes, for affordable rent. Building new homes will help to reduce the number of people waiting for affordable council housing.
How is the council planning to fund this project?
The council plans to use the money retained from the sale of council homes under the Right to Buy. Once completed, the homes will bring additional rental revenue to the Council.
