Help shape the future of South Ockendon & Corringham
We are engaging on proposals to build high-quality new homes in Thurrock, to help meet local demand. The new homes would be sited on land currently owned by the council in South Ockendon and Corringham.
Thurrock is a popular place to live. There is demand for a range of different types of new housing, from flats and starter homes to larger family-sized houses. This scheme will provide a variety of housing sizes and types, helping to meet a wide range of housing needs. This will include providing 100% of the total as affordable homes.
The sites are located at:
West Road, South Ockendon
47-49 The Geerings, Corringham
As part of our engagement process, we want to hear your comments on our proposals. You can view more information about the proposals on our display boards or at one of our drop in events.
Get involved
We will demonstrate our current proposals during this period of engagement and are keen to get feedback on these, including whether you think they will improve the neighbourhood and if you have any concerns about their possible impact.
This engagement will run for four weeks between Monday, 17 November 2025 to Friday, 12 December 2025.
We will hold a drop-in event in each locality, which will be an opportunity to see our proposals and share your views with our project team.
