Using this site

How can I take part?

You can take part in consultations and engagement activities by just clicking on the particular live project you are interested in and then following the instructions on how to share your views.

Do I need to register?

You don’t have to register on Have My Say Thurrock, however if you do register you will be able to access the full features of our site including when we are conducting interactive discussions and sharing ideas. We will also send you regular updates on any new consultation and engagement activities you have indicated you are interested in.

If this is your first time visiting Have My Say Thurrock then simply click on the Register button at the top right hand of the page.  Please note that if you registered on the old Have My Say system (before April 2019), you will need to re-register if you have not received a new activation email.  When prompted, create a Username and Password of your choice and provide a valid email address. We also ask you for further information on age, gender and the area of the borough you live in, so we can send you links to consultation and engagement activities we think you will be interested in, although this information isn’t mandatory.

If you have previously participated, click on the Sign In button located on the right hand side of the top tool bar.

The information you provide will be kept securely and electronically by Thurrock Council in accordance with GDPR.  Your details will not be sold or passed on to other organisations for other purposes.

What happens to my feedback?

All responses from questionnaires, comments, ideas and suggestions will be collated, anonymised and used to inform council decision making processes for the development of services, strategies  and activities. Online feedback may be  used in conjunction with other face-to-face consultation activities.

All feedback provided during consultation and engagement activities will be considered, however this does not mean that every suggestion can be taken on board and adopted as proposed.

Is my privacy protected?

Yes. Your privacy is protected. Thurrock Council will only use your email to invite you to participate in new projects, update you on existing projects or other council news, and only if you select to receive these updates in the registration form.  Your email address will not be used for any other purpose. More information is available in our Privacy Policy.

I rarely use the internet. Will I miss out on having my say?

Have My Say Thurrock provides us with an exciting new way to consult and engage online. It will be used to complement but not replace traditional face-to-face consultation activities, including public meetings, questionnaires and meetings with community groups.  If you wish to take part with the consultation and engagement activities on this site, and have difficulties participating on-line,  you can call us on 01375 652251 and we will offer other ways for you to submit your views, comments or ideas.
