A photograph taken in the middle of the road, looking down the street you can see cars parked up on the pavement causing an obstruction on both sides of the road. A speed bump is in the road.

Thurrock Council is developing a new Parking Strategy.

The updated Parking Strategy is in three parts:

  1. Parking Policy and Strategy
  2. Parking Design and Development Standards
  3. Parking Enforcement Strategy

These documents have been created to help us manage parking across Thurrock both now and in the future as vehicle use changes.

The Parking Policy and Strategy document includes how we will manage parking demand in the future and how decisions on parking arrangements can be taken across Thurrock. This can be used when discussing new development proposals with developers and our residents.

The Parking Design and Development Standards document provides detail on the quality and quantity of parking provision. This will be applicable to new developments throughout the borough. It includes details such as the number, size and design of parking needed for all types of vehicles dependent on the size of proposed development.

The Parking Enforcement Strategy sets out our strategy for enforcing parking policies and legal standards across Thurrock.

We would like your help in developing these documents. You can view the documents by clicking the links above. Please provide any comments or feedback using the survey below, or submit your ideas for our Parking Strategy.
