Thurrock Council is updating its Sustainable Modes of Travel Strategy (SMoTS) and we want to engage with you in the early stages of the process to better capture and address your needs.

The Council has the statutory duty to publish a Sustainable Modes of Travel Strategy (SMoTS) that sets out the actions the Council undertakes in partnership with partners to promote and enable children to travel to school using active and sustainable forms of transport. Our SMoTS seeks to achieve this primarily by having more pupils and students walking, cycling or using public transport to travel to schools and colleges.

Our existing SMoTS was developed in 2015. We are keen to understand the role and relevance that the current strategy has in supporting the way in which our pupils travel to school in the borough; and to get a better understanding of your views and opinions about its contents and its relevance, and what we should include within the updated document to better support our schools, residents and communities. We welcome you to give your thoughts about our existing document in the following survey, and should take no more than a few minutes to complete.
