Consultation has concluded
The current street trading policy was last published in 2011. Since publication the responsibility for the administration and enforcement of street trading has moved from the Food Safety Team to the Licensing Team. The reviewed policy reflects this change and includes changes in the following areas:
- Added additional requirements for the suitability of location.
- Included a requirement for Basic DBS Check to ensure the suitability of applicant.
- Provided a policy relating to the criteria for the suitability of the applicant with regards to any previous or current convictions.
- Enhanced guidance around where restrictions will be placed on the number of licences issued.
- Reduced the types of consent issued to just two, Static Consent for those that want to trade from one location on a regular basis and Mobile Consent for traders that move around an area to trade, not stopping for any more than one hour per day in any location, such as ice cream traders.
We are asking for comments on the draft policy.
