Consultation Outcome - May 2022

Closure of Little Pirates and Neptune Day Nurseries

It is with deep regret that we must inform you of the difficult decision that has been made to close both Little Pirates and Neptune Day Nurseries at the end of the summer term.

This decision was not made lightly or without a very long search for an alternative solution. Unfortunately, one could not be found and therefore the last day of term will be 15 July 2022 when the funding for early education and childcare places ends for the summer term.

We understand that this unhappy news is and unsettling for you and your child. The Early Years Team and Family Information Service Phone (01375 652801email fis@thurrock.gov.ukwill do all that they can to support you to find alternative early years education and childcare. You will also find a directory of childcare providers on the AskThurrock website.

Both nurseries have served the community of Thurrock in so many more ways than just providing early education and childcare and we know you will want to join us in thanking the staff for all their hard work and dedication over the years.

We would like to hear your views on Little Pirates and Neptunes Nursery.

These views will be used to develop proposals on early years provision in Tilbury. The proposals could mean a change in who provides the nurseries or where you could access nursery/early years provision.

Have your say by answering the questions below. The consultation closes on 8 November 2021.

If you are a nursery provider, please complete the provider consultation.
