Consultation has concluded
As a result of this consultation the order has been extended for a period of 3 years to 31 March 2026 with the following amendments:
extended to include the areas of Grays Town Park and Seabrooke Rise
the prohibited behaviours have been extended to include nitrous oxide for recreational use within the designated area
The current Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in Grays to address the street drinking and ensuing anti-social behaviour caused by a minority of residents and visitors to the area expires on 31 March 2023. We would like to extend this order for a further 3 years to respond to the ongoing concerns of residents and businesses in the Grays Thurrock and Grays Riverside wards.
Following feedback we are also considering extending the area covered to incorporate Bridge Road from Orsett Road to Argent Street, which would include the areas of Grays Town Park and Seabrooke Rise within the order. We are seeking views from local residents, businesses and other key stakeholders on this proposal and would appreciate your contribution to this consultation.
